Creating Safe Spaces
Caressentials club was born out of the website Teen.Self.Health with a focus on providing resources for teams to prioritize their mental health and well-being. Caressentials was run in a public high school in the state of Washington in the 21/22 school year and this model allows high schools across the U.S. to easily scale to host and run their own club.

Caressential Club's purpose is to establish a vibrant school community that informs and supports individual wellbeing through presentations, resources, events, and connections. we want to build connection and provide a venue where students can come together and share challenges, issues, and stressors as well as wellbeing practices and resources. High school can be very stressful and overwhelming for many, and lots of students these days prefer not to waste their time with “useless” self-care activities. Our goal is to dispel the myth around self-care and teach teens why selfcare isn’t selfish.
The goal: I hope to fulfill my vision that every high school can have a club that empowers teens to share their stories with each other, and learn simple tactics to improve their wellbeing, and learn that taking care of yourself and self-care is not SELFISH, it’s a priority.
